In 1905, Lord Curzon reached Kuari Pass (3640m). Kuaripass means "door way”. He made the trek, and since then it is also known as the Curzon trail.The main attraction of it is the imposing view of the eastern peaks of Garhwal Himalayas,the twin peaks of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dronagiri, Trishul, Bertholi,
Hathi Ghodi Parvat, Mana, and Neelkanth peaks. The trek passes through Pristine Rhododendron, oak and deodar forest. Rarely Himalayan flora and fauna are found as plenty as on this trail.The Kuari (virgin) Pass treks is a highly varied & scenic trek which passes through three lesser Passes & five major rivers - the Pindar, Kaliganga, Nandakini, Birehiganga& Dhauliganga. The pass or "KHAL" is approached from the ancient trek(Goat Track) route to Joshimath, Badrinath along the pilgrim’s route.This trek can be undertaken from Auli or from Debal or Ghat near Nandaprayag. The Kuari pass is one of the most beautiful trek, famous for the enchanting view of the snow clad peaks of Neelkanth (6596m), Kamet (7756m), Mukut Parbat, Mana, Nilgiri Parbat, Trishul (7120m), Hardeol, Dronagiri, rishi pahar, Kalanka, Chaukhamba (7128m), Lampak, Changabang (6864m) , Ronthi , Beathertoli, Kamatt (7757m) and others. On a clear day most of the time you are trekking in the company of these mountains giving you a thrilling experience of the mighty Himalaya , particularly the NANDA DEVI MASSIF. These mountains though far away appear very close. The trail was named after Lord Curzon, who was a keen trekker & it is said that the path was specially improved so that he could trek. With independence it was renamed the Nehru Trail.
KuariPass: It is at an elevation of 4265m in the heart of Chamoli District of Uttarakhand in the northeastern part of Garhwal. From Gorson, the imposing view of the eastern part of Garhwal Himalayas is truly breathtaking, appearing so near, that one feels like reaching out and touching them. The prominent peaks visible from Kuari Pass are Nanda Devi, Dunagiri, Bethartoli, Devasthan.
Auli: Adiguru Shankaracharya on his visit to Uttarakhand had
founded Joshimath which is 47 kms from Badrinath and this snow-covered mountainous region is well known for its winter sports, especially skiing. The third most famous skiing spot in the country is Auli which is just 12 kms away from Joshimath. There are dozens of areas for trekking where tourists can take a walk and the scenery is extraordinary.
Day 01: Delhi – Rishikesh (230 kms/6 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to Rishikesh via Haridwar. Arrive Rishikesh. Meet our representative and transfer to the hotel. Evening free to explore the area. Dinner & overnight stay in hotel.Day 02: Rishikesh – Auli (260 kms/8-9 hrs)
After an early breakfast drive to Auli (2750m) via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnprayag and Nandprayag, the most famous confluences of Garhwal Himalayas. Lunch enroute. Arrival at Auli by evening. Upon arrival at Auli check in to Tourist Rest house. Dinner and overnight stay at TRH.Day 03: Auli - Chitrakantha (3310 mts/10857 ft) 15 kms/6-7 hrs
Early in the morning one can see the magnificent view of Nanda Devi peak. After breakfast we will start our trek from Auli. Enroute we will cross the famous Bugyals (meadows) of Gorson and from here we can see the entire range of Nanda Devi sanctuary, along the Rishi Ganga. Dinner and overnight stay in tents. Day 04: Chitrakantha - Kuaripass (3640 mts/11940 ft) - Dakhwani (3300 mts/10824 ft) 14 kms/5 hrs In the morning after breakfast we will trek to Dakhwani via the Lord Curzon trail Kuaripass. The route is full of thrill. Dinner and overnight in tents.Day 05: Dakhwani - Pana (2450 mts/8036 ft) 14 kms/5-6 hrs
In the morning after breakfast trek to Pana. Enroute we will findlush green meadows, water falls, snow clappedmountainsand much more. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Day 06: Pana – Ramni (2550 mts/8364 ft) 17 kms/5-6 hrs
In the morning after breakfast we will trek to Ramni village. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.Day 07: Ramni - Ghat (1330 mts/4363 ft) 15 kms trek/4 hrs – Srinagar
In the morning we will trek downwards to reach roadhead Ghat and from here drive to Srinagar (110 kms/3 hrs). dinner and overnight stay in hotel.Day 08: Srinagar – Haridwar (125 kms/4 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Haridwar. On arrival check in to hotel. In the evening visit Har Ki Peri for Aarti ceremony. Later back to hotel for overnight stay.Haridwar: Haridwar is the gateway to the four pilgrimages of Uttaranchal. It's also starting point on the journey to the sacred sources of the Ganga and the Yamuna Rivers. According to legend, Prince Bhagirath performed penance here to salvage the souls of his ancestors who had perished due to Sage Kapila's curse. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth from Lord Shiva's locks and its bountiful water revived the sons of King Sagara. In the tradition of Bhagirath, devout Hindus stand in the sacredwaters here,praying for the salvation of their ancestors.
Day 09: Haridwar – Delhi
After breakfast drive to Delhi. Lunch enroute. On arrival at Delhi transfer to airport to catch your onwards flight.Trip & services ends here
